Waverley Terrace Allotments continues to grow with the invaluable help of our 19 committed and dedicated volunteers.

With the completion of our two new 60ft Polytunnels we are already putting into practice plans for indoor planting and the growing of various produce, the possibilities of which are endless. With that comes the opportunity of group and school involvement with arrears dedicated to learning and skills with the possibility to take ownership of their own growing area.

Working in partnership with Hartlepool Adult Education and Probation Services add to the future plans for the site which also include bee-keeping, pond area, flower beds and children's area.

With the volunteers hard work and dedication we are producing varied crops of fresh produce in our outdoor cultivated areas and raised beds and currently harvesting spring onions, radish, lettuce, peas, broccoli, kale, potatoes, cauliflower, beans - French, runner and broad - courgettes and carrots of all shapes and sizes!! Being cared for in anticipation are our late potatoes, red and white onions, white and red cabbage and of course good old brussels sprouts.

With such a diverse group of volunteers with a wide range of skills and abilities, its wonderful to see everyone working together, supporting each other, with one common goal - the success of Waverley.

With so many plans for the future, including charity status, Waverley can only grow bigger and stronger.
