As #VolunteersWeek draws to a close today we’d like to say a big `thank you` to all the volunteers working across the Borough to support our communities.

Volunteers’ Week takes place 1-7 June every year. It's a chance to thank volunteers for the fantastic contribution they make to our communities.

Volunteers’ Week is supported and celebrated across the voluntary sector. This includes small grassroots organizations and larger, household-name charities.

"Kindness is not an act. It is a lifestyle."

Message from Poolie Time Exchange;
Here at Poolie Time Exchange, our volunteers are the backbone of our organisation. None of the work we do, or businesses we operate would be able to do so without their unwavering and never ending support. We are incredibly lucky to have such enthusiastic people on board who help in many different ways in our various operations! Our volunteers have always supported our organisation, but we’d love to take this opportunity to thank them all for their time and resources in how we assisted some of the most vulnerable in this town during the COVID 19 pandemic – over 150 volunteers gave us their time to be able to prepare/deliver/collect food to create over 10,000 emergency bags, and 25,000 hot meals since March 2019. They do so selflessly, all to help those who really required their assistance and time during some of the hardest times in our town. We also have volunteers who work within our businesses to create revenue to go back into the work we do in our community – these include our waste collection vans, our furniture collection and delivery vans, community collectors for our bric-a-brac items, and our retail staff. Again, we’d be entirely lost without their overwhelming support and commitment, and we commend them for the incredible work they do! In our photo, we showcase some of our volunteers, including the young volunteers on our team, the photos don’t include all of our team unfortunately, but we are so lucky to have such a large team that we struggle to photograph them all! Our team of young volunteers are especially amazing as creating children/young person friendly fundraising ideas and treats – and are the brains behind the ‘sweetie drop’ in which houses across the town who painted rainbow pictures in support of our key workers in the pandemic received packages of sweets to their doorsteps to brighten the children’s days!

Overwhelmed, humbled and proud are the only words we can begin to articulate when describing the amazing commitment and efforts given by our volunteers!

`THANK-YOU from all the Team at Poolie Time Exchange`
