Befriender role is an opportunity for volunteers to provide mentoring and emotional support to people in difficult transitions in their lives. Befrienders will assist in supporting clients to achieve positive changes. Volunteers will work with clients in supported housing projects/schemes or in their own homes as outreach support. AS a volunteer you will support by providing a range of early interventions to clients looking to improve their life skills and knowledge and achieve greater independence.
This role is varied and includes many opportunities to develop or learn new skills in regards of working with vulnerable people.
Time needed from Volunteer:
Various hours available - opening hours 9:00am - 6:00pm
Commitment six months
Commitment of a minimum of 2 hours a week.
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
Volunteers must be motivated with a positive attitude, good communication skills and able to commit to a period of six months.
Any knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, ect would be desirable.
Full training will be given to enable you to deliver role.
