Purpose: To assist the Children's Centre in the preparation, delivery and tidying up of group activities for children from birth to 4 years old and their parent/carer.
To assist the Children's Centre Worker leading the group session with the following tasks:
Set up activities and running of the group.
Preparation of food for snack time and tidy up following activity.
Engage and communicate with children, parents/carers and professional's.
Assist with encouraging parents/carers to play with their children.
Ensure confidentiality at all times.
Be part of the team
Additional duties as agreed by the group.
Time needed from Volunteer:
Available times throughout Monday to Friday.
Give commitment to attend regular support sessions including Volunteer Forum
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
Do not require any qualification's when you apply to volunteer, however organisation do offer an accredited Level 1 Volunteering in your Community course in partnership with Adult Education , to enhance your volunteering skills.
It is essential that potential volunteers:
Have the time, commitment and enthusiasm to become a member of Hartlepool Children's Centre team.
Have empathy and understanding towards families and young children.
Can work in a confidential manner and understand the need for confidentiality.
Are able to communicate and listen without being judgemental.
Awareness of issues surrounding parenting and chid development or be willing to learn.
Are able to use own initiative.
Is reliable, punctual, respectful and honest.
