Purpose: Organisation that uses therapeutic gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities, ill health or those who are disadvantaged or vulnerable.
Duties:
The gardener's labour during the year can include planting flowers and other plants, weeding, pruning, grafting, removal of dead flowers, mixing and preparation of insecticides and other products for treating pests, and tending garden compost.
In addition to role, opportunity can include painting, joinery and any other tasks commensurate with site.
Have a knowledge and understanding of the way in which to care for, manage and develop identified garden areas, including soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planting would be desirable.
Time needed from Volunteer:
Flexible around individual needs.
Mon - Friday
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
Training and support is available to develop individual's to progress onto further training, community activity or employment if desired.
Experience in the use of:
Rotavator
Grass-Cutter
Hedge-Trimmer
Strimmer
Full support given to deliver role.
