Purpose: To assist the organisations Caretaking team with varied tasks in and around the centres building.
The organisations Caretakers keep their buildings and outdoor areas up to a high standard. Having volunteers to assist the Caretaking team is a great asset for the organisation and in return can offer you a varied, fun, busy but enjoyable role. You will gain valuable skills and experience in this very rewarding opportunity.
To assist the organisations Caretakers with the following tasks:
Set up and clear away rooms in accordance with the room booking schedule.
General DIY tasks, for example painting, minor repairs ect.
Engaging with young people and parents/carers who use the centre.
If Health and Safety issues arise, notify building Caretaker or member of the Management Team.
Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding and how they affect you in your role.
Be part of a an exciting team.
Time needed from Volunteer:
Two hours per week, volunteering on a regular basis.
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
The organisation does not request any formal qualifications when you apply to volunteer, they do however offer an accredited Level 1 Volunteering in your Community course in partnership with Hartlepool Adult Education, to enhance your volunteering skills.
Require somebody who is reliable, punctual, respectful, honest and able to communicate well with parents/carers, children and professionals.
A full induction programme will be provided for you to deliver the role.
An understanding of your responsibilities as a volunteer including; safeguarding and confidentiality.
Any training needs will be addressed where necessary.
