Purpose: To assist organisations team in the preparation, delivery and clear away of group activities aimed at children from birth to approx. 1 year old (non-walkers) and their parent/carer. To liaise with health professionals and parents to encourage parents into Baby Time as well as informing parents that the Healthy Start Clinic and Feeding Support are available during the Baby Time session.
To assist the Children's Centre Worker leading the group with the following tasks:
Set up of activities and toys in accordance with group lead planning.
Engaging with Children and Parents.
Clearing away activities and toys, cleaning up where necessary.
Engaging with health professionals in our `All About Baby & You Clinic.
If health and Safety issues arise notify group lead.
Awareness of confidentiality and how that affects you in your role.
Be part of the team.
Accompanying parent to Health Visitor/Group if nervous and in need of support to access service.
Time needed from Volunteer:
Three hours commitment per week volunteering either one morning or afternoon on a regular basis
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
The organisation does not request any formal qualifications when you apply to volunteer, they do however offer an accredited Level 1 Volunteering in your Community course in partnership with Hartlepool Adult Education, to enhance your volunteering skills.
Require somebody who is reliable, punctual, respectful, honest and able to communicate well with parents/carers, children and professionals.
A full induction programme will be provided for you to deliver the role.
An understanding of your responsibilities as a volunteer including; safeguarding and confidentiality.
Any training needs will be addressed where necessary.
