Purpose: A local charity which was founded in 1987 due to the lack of support for those living with epilepsy and their families, in the town of Hartlepool. The organisation strongly believes in support and spreading the message into our local community and have developed an awareness training session for groups and organisations. The charity now has three Charity Shops, and have a supported drop in group and three active creative groups for people to access.
Volunteer required to help on delivery/collections van picking up donated furniture for local charity shops.
Assist with the safe un/loading of vehicles.
Deliver shop orders and support the managers in all aspects of goods transportation.
Collect donated goods, for transport to the shops.
Ensure all paperwork is compliant (i.e. adherence to GDPR & customer’s personal data) and relevant processes / procedures are followed.
Deliver excellent customer service to all internal / external stakeholders and customers.
Time needed from Volunteer:
Hours can be flexible and travel expenses paid - to be discussed in informal meeting with organisation.
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
Puts safety first. Complies with manual handling and Health & Safety requirements to ensure own safety, and that of colleagues / general public at all times.
Delivers excellent customer service and displays a highly professional and caring attitude.
Maintains confidentiality policy at all times.
Helps keep the van and Centre areas clean, neat and tidy.
Attends meetings/in-house training sessions as required.
Heavy lifting will be required.
