Purpose:
Hartlepool Borough Council Holiday Activities and Food Programme Quality Assurance Volunteer. We are looking for volunteers to support the HAF Coordinator in the Quality Assurance of provision to ensure that providers are meeting the standards that have been set and delivering what they have agreed to do in their application form.

The Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) has been up and running in Hartlepool since 2021. The aim of the programme is to provide access for school aged children to activities over the three main holiday periods of Easter, Summer and Christmas. Each child/young person should have access to 4 hours of activity, 4 days a week, for 6 weeks of the year (1 week Easter, 4 weeks summer, 1 week Christmas). Alongside this is the provision of healthy, hot food and the delivery of nutritional education for children/young people and their families. To do this Hartlepool Borough Council is acting as a funding distributor for providers wishing to provide activities to children/young people across the Local Authority area.

Duties:
Key duties will include:

• Carry out Quality Assurance spot checks on providers
• Questioning staff and service users
• Noting taking
• Reporting back to the HAF Programme Coordinator

The role is auditing provision for our programme so a short induction session would be required to inform on completion of paperwork.

Training will be unaccredited and will form part of the induction process on form completion and reporting.

Hartlepool Learning & Skills Service - Volunteer Hartlepool will discuss and support potential volunteer on Safeguarding training.

Time needed from Volunteer:
We will be looking for enough volunteers to cover at least 1 volunteer per day for the 6 weeks holidays

Looking to recruit at least 1 volunteer from the SEND community to spot check provision for our SEND children and young people.

Satisfactory DBS return will be required.
