Purpose:
Supporting vulnerable and chaotic people with housing support and other identified arears such as; drug and alcohol, mental health, training and education.

Providing support with running the shop linked to the accommodation service, to encourage clients to get involved in helping and building skills, taking orders promoting the shop via social media etc.

Duties:
We are looking for volunteers to primarily work in the shop 'the cracket' which sells wooden furniture made by the clients from our service and all profit made goes back to support our homeless clients. We are looking for people who can take orders online and in the shop, who can work with our clients to encourage them to spend some time in the shop making arts and craft pieces and help build up clients skills by one to one support or group work.

Also we would like to set up a drop in where members of the community can come and receive support and signposting for any issues they have for example facing homelessness, problems with rent arrears, drug and alcohol issues ,mental health etc. We need people who can dedicate at least 5 hours a week which will cover at least one day in the shop and someone who is not afraid of hard work as this service is very rewarding but you will only get good results if you make the effort.

We also need volunteers to provide support for our clients within the service who are facing many issues and are very chaotic, they will be expected to support them with managing their tenancy by helping keeping their flats in a good standard, help with paying bills and set up payment plans with any arrears, attending any appointments they need support with for example drug and alcohol ,probation etc. Also networking with agencies to promote our service in order to build up our waiting list, support with assessing potential clients and supporting clients on the waiting list with any issues. Ideally volunteers will need experience of supporting vulnerable people with issues.

Time needed from Volunteer:
Atleast 5 hours a week

Skills Experience & Qualifications:
Not essential however useful if volunteers have experience of providing support to vulnerable people, have retail experience and have basic IT skills.
