Purpose: To be a vital part of a dynamic and innovative substance misuse team, supporting individuals affected by addiction and substance misuse.
Applicants who wish to develop themselves while supporting the local community or former clients of the service who believe helping others would support their own recovery are equalling welcome.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage in various areas of a wide reaching service:
a) To support the delivery of therapeutic groups, mutual aid meetings and psychoeducational sessions
b) Working on Health Promotion in accordance with Public Health England campaigns and the public health agenda.
c) Assisting the Community Reintegration team with community based activities.
d) Promote Drug and Alcohol Awareness to local children by supporting the Young Peoples team in their work in School and other venues.
e) Volunteers may support with admin support and greeting clients and professionals at our dedicated building The Willows.
Time needed from Volunteer:
Minimum of 3 hours per week, hours available from 9:00 till 20:00 during the week or Saturday morning would be possible.
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
No experience or qualifications are needed as a training package will be offered. A willingness to learn and work within a team delivering evidence based therapies, perspective volunteers with need a non-judgmental and inclusive attitude, while supporting the Recovery focused ethos of HART.
Due to the nature of the service applicants must be over 18 years of age. Appropriate police checks will be carried by the council prior to the commencement of duties.
