Purpose: Seeking enthusiastic and friendly individuals to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for patients and families.
Meeting and greeting patients on arrival, guiding them where they need to go.
Ensure patients well being and comfort whilst waiting for transportation or discharge.
Offering drinks to patients, (after checking with RN that they are allowed fluids)
Talking and listening to patients who are waiting to be seen.
To promote, encourage and support the completion of family and friends test questionnaires.
Escorting patients who may need to attend other departments across the Trust.
Engaging with patients who are in need of company, or who are anxious or distressed,
Time needed from Volunteer:
Various hours available, minimum of 2 hours.
Skills Experience & Qualifications:
Enjoy listening and talking to people - good communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion to help.
